Biography:

David Flavius is a distinguished soccer professional with a legacy that bridges international, collegiate, and professional levels indoor and outdoor. A native of Saint Lucia, David began his elite playing journey representing his country on the St. Lucian National Team, where he competed on the international stage and earned recognition for his creativity, leadership, and relentless attacking play.

He continued his career in the United States, starring at Ohio Dominican University, where he left a lasting impact on the program. His talent and work ethic earned him a place in the Ohio Dominican Athletics Hall of Fame, honoring his exceptional college career.

Following college, David signed professionally with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in 1999, where he became a foundational player in the club’s history. Over an eight-year career with the Riverhounds, he established himself one the club records for most appearances. Currently, holds goal scoring leader which he set over his eight seasons with the Riverhounds between 1999 and 2006. He also is one of the  all-time assists leader and one of the most dynamic and respected players in the club’s history. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Hall of Fame in 2019. In 2001, Flavius also played one season of indoor soccer with the Cleveland Crunch, tallying seven goals and three assists.

After hanging up his boots, David transitioned into coaching with the same energy and vision he brought to the field. Today, as Technical Director of Pittsburgh Independence FC, David leads player development programs with a mission to cultivate talent, build character, and inspire young athletes to reach their potential.
